Nina was raised in San Francisco, CA and moved to Vancouver, BC in 2009. She has been editing video and animation since she was 14, and is now an expert on the Final Cut Pro Suite. Her skills as an editor have won many of her short films awards, most notably a NAFTA Student Emmy Honorable Mention for Technical Achievement in 2005. She has a BFA in Film Production from Ryerson University, Toronto, and is an associate member of the Canadian Cinema Editors Guild (CCE). She specialises in documentary, but also has lots of experience in other genres.
Ever since she could hold a pencil, Nina has been honing her drawing and design skills. She never goes anywhere without her sketchbook for practising life drawing, sketching out ideas, and brainstorming. She has been working as a successful website and graphic designer for 8 years, and uses much of her experience and design education on a daily basis.
Nina’s enthusiasm for both film editing and illustration stem from her greatest passion: storytelling. She uses her skills and expertise in both of these crafts in conjunction with each other in order to create a compelling and cohesive story out of everything that she creates.
